1. Your blog “Taylor Swift Style” and your Instagram account “taylorswiftstyled” are all about fashion and outfits Taylor wore. While analyzing her looks in a more detailed way, have you ever drawn inspiration for yourself and the way you dress?

For the last thirteen years I’ve been closely documenting and analyzing Taylor’s fashion both online through my blog and social media and then, of course, through my book Taylor Swift Style. A signature of Taylor’s street style is that it’s primarily based on classically feminine, girly basics. Items that are easy to replicate because they’re often staples that you might already have in your closet. Or because the brands themselves are what a typical fan might be able to afford. A byproduct of watching Taylor’s fashion evolve so closely and for so many years is of course feeling inspired by her outfits to copy and paste into my own closet.

2. You started your blog 13 years ago, which is quite a long time. Your work and your success opened a few doors for you: you’re currently on tour with your first book – about Taylor, of course. How has Taylor Swift influenced your life?

I started listening to Taylor’s music when I was 13 years old. Not to date myself, but that means I’ve listened to her discography by now for over half my life. Taylor’s music has been the soundtrack to almost every major life moment I’ve experienced, from my teen years to now in my thirties. Like countless other fans, I see myself in the vulnerable and emotional stirring lyrics of her songs. She’s helped me make sense of my experiences as she writes about making sense of her own. When I wrote Taylor Swift Style, I wanted to write a book that was a reciprocal love letter to Taylor and the love letters her discography has symbolized for me.

3. Your Book “Taylor’s Style” shows and explains outfits of the different Eras. Do you have a favorite outfit Taylor has worn? What makes the look special?

One of my recent favourite Taylor outfits was the peridot green Gucci gown she wore to the 2024 Golden Globes – a favourite both for its column gown silhouette, which I historically love on Taylor, but also for its colour which has become a signature hue for myself and TSS.

4. What is your favorite TS era – song-wise and outfit-wise?

It was an enriching experience writing Taylor Swift Style because it truly was a journey through every Taylor era, musically and stylistically. In researching and writing for every era and thus chapter of this book, I truly found something from every time period of Taylor’s discography that resonated. Like her re-records do so successfully, this book provides opportunity to catch up new fans on her visual legacy and also gives older fans this beautifully, lovingly packaged book that definitively walks through some of our fondest memories of the last two decades of her career. I think there’s something in it for everyone.
